Outstanding Contamination Removal for Church Heating System with Commercial BoilerMag
Last year BoilerMag was contacted by Blaydon based Enright Environmental Ltd, who had completely revamped the heating system of a Grade 2 Listed church in Northumberland with the help of a BoilerMag XL commercial heating system filter.
Enright Environmental Ltd fitted the BoilerMag filter in the boiler plant room under St Cuthbert’s church in the town of Bedlington, and it’s now had its first service. As you can see from the picture, the magnetic core of the filter was absolutely covered in a black sludge-like debris containing magnetite. Needless to say, if the heating system hadn’t been protected using a boiler filter, this contamination would not only be circulating in the heating system, but building up in the boiler and other components.
First Service for Magnetic Heating System Filter
Onsite installer and Enright Environmental Ltd heating engineer Adrian Mills added: “The boilers we fitted at the church last year have had their first service. Bear in mind that the system was flushed before we started the install!”
The church’s heating system was over 30 years old and in desperate need of an upgrade. Enright Environmental Ltd flushed the system out, including the radiators and underfloor heating, and then stripped the boiler room virtually clean, effectively starting from scratch. Some of the original pipework that remains is made from cast iron, adding to the charm of the old building.
Prolong the Life of Older Heating Systems
Adrian commented at the time: “We always recommend that our customers install a magnetic filter. They are a vital part of a heating system, and we believe that they should be compulsory in new installations. We retrofit them too as they can prolong the life of older systems as well.
