Children’s Nursery in Newcastle Warms Up with a BoilerMag XL
A children’s nursery in the centre of Newcastle has benefited from a BoilerMag XL magnetic boiler filter to protect its heating system, brand new boiler and hot water cylinder. The project was taken on by Blaydon based Enright Environmental Ltd., and included the complete removal, installation and commissioning of a new boiler and hot water cylinder over the Easter weekend.
New Boiler and Hot Water System
Onsite installer and Enright Environmental Ltd heating engineer Adrian Mills said: “This was a particularly tricky project for us because we had no choice but to carry out the work when the nursery was shut over the Easter weekend. When we began, the boiler was working but only just, and the water was in a terrible state. Luckily, I have great staff that are prepared to go the extra mile, and we managed to finish boiler removal, install and commissioning of the new one, plus the hot water cylinder, in just 5 days. We also had to pull a 20m flue liner down the existing chimney stack.”
Enright Environmental fitted a plate heat exchanger so that the new boiler was protected from the old system, and the BoilerMag XL filter was installed along with the addition of the BM1 Central Heating System Inhibitor chemical to protect the heating system.
Adrian continued: “The old system didn’t have any filtration on it. Now we are confident that the magnetic filter will clean the system effectively, ridding them of the niggling problems they’ve experienced, such as sticky thermostatic radiator valves. The boiler itself is 110kw and supplies the 4 floors of heating, as well as a 500L hot water cylinder. The new hot water cylinder also has a secondary return pump, ensuring that the water temperature is a safe level and working as it should.
So, the little darlings now have a top notch heating and hot water system with the added comfort of knowing that the BoilerMag XL is cleaning the system up and will keep them warm next winter!”
During the installation, Enright Environmental also discovered that the header tanks were blocked, which was causing a variety of problems within the building. In order to rectify the issues they were having, Enright Environmental converted the whole site to sealed, and fitted all the appropriate ancillaries including expansion tanks and pressure relief valves. Some of the control valves weren’t working correctly, so Enright Environmental sorted that out too!
