BoilerMag Supports Howarth Timber & Building Supplies’ Fundraising Quest for Cancer Research

BoilerMag has donated a wide selection of raffle prizes to Howarth Timber & Building Supplies in Rochdale to help them in their fundraising quest for Cancer Research UK.

As a mixed merchant with branches across the UK, the Howarth Timber Group stocks everything from basic timber products to plumbing and heating supplies. Cancer Research UK is their current nominated charity, with which they have an initial two year partnership.

The partnership will see them raise money through company-wide initiatives as well as individual staff member fundraising efforts, all to support the life-saving work that Cancer Research UK carries out, such as the development of new screening techniques to detect cancer earlier.

BoilerMag Area Sales Manager for the North of England, Glenn Turgoose said: “We are delighted to be able to offer the Rochdale branch of Howarth Timber & Building Supplies a selection of BoilerMag products and merchandise for their raffle in aid of Cancer Research UK. Our range of magnetic boiler filters and premium performance system treatment chemicals are very popular, so interest should be considerable.”

Howarth Timber & Building Supplies’ partnership with Cancer Research UK follows a hugely successful four-year deal with Caudwell Children, which saw them raise more than £85,000 to assist with providing family support services, equipment, treatment and therapies for disabled children and their families across the UK.

Large Fundraising Efforts

Staff members from their 30 branches regularly undertake charity events, and Cancer Research UK has long been close to the hearts of their employees. The company is planning a number of large fundraisers across the course of 2017/18, as Nicholas Howarth, their managing director, explained. “Our partnership with Caudwell Children demonstrated our entire staff’s commitment to helping good causes over the last four years,” he said.

“Cancer Research UK is a charity whose work resonates strongly with everyone at Howarth Timber, and we are very much looking forward to doing everything we can to promote the vital work they do and raise as much money as we can over the next two years.”

Kizza Munir from the Rochdale branch of Howarth Timber & Building Supplies said: “The kind donations from BoilerMag are a great contribution to a raffle that we are organising in the Rochdale store. The tickets are £1, and the selection of prizes is great. We are really confident that we’ll raise a decent sum of money to kick-start the fundraising for Cancer Research UK nicely.”

Cancer Research UK is a charity with the vision to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. In the 1970s, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived, but over the last 40 years, survival has doubled. Cancer Research UK’s ambition is to accelerate progress and see three-quarters of people surviving the disease within the next 20 years.
